Lockdown Update – House Moves Can Continue

On Saturday night, the Prime Minister revealed that from Thursday 5th November, England will enter into a second national lockdown lasting at least 4 weeks and many of you will be wondering what this means for you and your properties.

Robert Jenrick, the Housing Secretary, confirmed that although full details will be revealed later this week, the housing market would be excluded from the lockdown and moves can continue when Thursday’s lockdown begins.

Letting agents and self-managed landlords can continue to manage their properties effectively as tradespeople can still enter homes to carry out repairs and maintenance or issue safety certificates however, they must follow social distancing guidelines that have already been published.

This is obviously a very fluid situation and as full details have not yet been published, we are not yet sure of the finer details like whether in-person viewings will be allowed. However, we have invested in technology to create fully virtual tours, allowing people to look around the property online as well as offering live-streamed viewings to prospective tenants.

These technologies have been very well received by tenants and it allows us to keep people moving throughout these strange times, whilst keeping us all as safe as possible.

If there are any further updates that may affect you or your property, we send these over to you ASAP, however, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’d be happy to help.
